Crematoria mercury emissions

In 2005 the requirement was put in place for a proportion of UK crematoria to have suitable equipment fitted to reduce their mercury emissions to air. Several types of abatement system are available, however the vast majority of systems involve the use of blended activated carbon reagents to ‘capture’ mercury vapour instead of releasing it to the environment.
